Regulations and ethics

Advising, arranging or administering equity release products and providing home reversion plans is fully regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Our equity release activities are conducted through the following FSA regulated companies:

• Home & Capital Advisers Ltd – authorised to provide equity release advice and arrange plans.



• Home & Capital Trustee Company Ltd – authorised to provide equity release plans.



• Home & Capital Trust Ltd – authorised to administer plans.

In common with other financial products, the design of the product itself is not regulated by the FSA. Here the standards set by SHIP are important, as they go beyond the requirements of the regulator to improve consumer protection. In addition, SHIP members have agreed not to arrange plans without suitable professional advice.
