Home & Capital was privately owned until October 2006, when we became part of the equity release activities of Sovereign Reversions plc. Sovereign was established in 1992 to invest in home reversion plans and is listed on the London Stock Exchange's AIM. (www.sovereign-reversions.co.uk).

We are a founder member of Safe Home Income Plans (SHIP), the body established in 1991 to set standards of consumer protection for the equity release industry (www.ship-ltd.org). Through SHIP we have been active in bringing about the regulation of home reversions by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), effective April 2007.
